RAINSTREAM

Identify a need of yours and design a solution
Solution
Problem

Rainy days at Stanford mean wet bike seats and therefore soggy pants

Goal

A bike seat that utilizes hydrophobic material, strategically placed ridges, and aerodynamics to stay dry

Being able to bike to class on a rainy day without soaking my pants

hydrophobic material keeps water out

ridges start shallow and end up deep

water naturally flows out the back

aerodynamics give an extra boost

Ideation
Prototype

Develop a machine that can turn any bike seat into a Rainstream by cutting away materials to form the proven ridge design, line the ridges with durable materials, and coat the bike seat with a hydrophobic solution
