Problem

Goal

Get children to sleep during road trips so they can be energized when they arrive at the destination

Parents find it difficult to engage their children in a restful manner during family road trips

Synthesis

After gathering key insights from interviews with parents and children, we developed three prototypes. We then tested each prototype and drew conclusions about which aspects of each prototype were most effective. Finally, we combined all of the most effective features into a new product idea: the story mask.

Rapid Prototyping

We put together lo-res prototypes combining a short pre-recorded story played on an iPhone with the animal themed story mask. We tested for story length and content as well as mask comfort and aesthetic.

Next Steps
  • Build higher resolution prototypes

  • Continue to test and iterate

  • Streamline manufacturing costs

  • Launch product

Business Strategy
  • Sell Story Mask starter packs

  • Additional Story Packs sold separately

  • Partner with children's shows and cartoons to develop enticing stories
